The Middlebrooks family will hold its reunion in Jacksboro beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7. This year the family will again recognize that while its members are scattered all over everywhere its ancestral home in Texas remains in Jacksboro where five generations of Middlebrooks’ have lived starting with John Floyd and Mary Jane Jarrell Middlebrooks in the early 1880s following their migration from Jones County, Ga.

The Middlebrooks reunions in Texas started in 1936 and this year the tradition is carried on of the descendants getting together each year for fellowship and to renew and strengthen family ties.

John Floyd and Mary Jane’s gravesite is in Oakwood Cemetery in Jacksboro and the rich heritage of our family in and around Jack County is reflected by family presence in numerous cemeteries in Jack County.

This year’s activities will include a noon meal where everyone’s favorite and/or famous recipe will be served.  After lunch there will be a short business meeting to review family activities and support to the Jacksboro community. The Middlebrooks hope to see everyone there and family friends and members of the local community are certainly welcome to also come and visit.
