Luther Prunty celebrated his 102nd birthday Saturday, January 11, with a trip to the ranch where he was born in a log cabin during a snowstorm in 1912.
He owns and operates the ranch to this day, located near Cundiff in East Jack County.
He also enjoyed lunch with his family at home in Jacksboro prepared by Deubrella Horton. The lunch also included Dairyland barbecue as he requested.
Luther is one of fewer than 20 members of the Lost Battalion, a group captured by the Japanese during World War II. He is the only survivor left in North Texas.
