As a family practice physician, Dr. Pierce has the expertise to provide comprehensive medical care for all members of a family in every stage of life. From pregnant women to delivery of children, and young children to adults, and even seniors, Dr. Peirce can be your first source for healthcare.
“We are excited to have Dr. Pierce join our team,” said Frank Beaman, CEO of FCH. “As our community continues to grow, we will always respond accordingly to ensure we have the medical team to support the diverse medical needs of Jack County.”
A native of Brazil, Dr. Pierce was raised in the Midwest region of the United States. She attended Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass., and completed her medical studies at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas, and residency in Nebraska.
Dr. Pierce is not new to Jacksboro. Shortly after completing her undergraduate studies and moving to Texas to be with family, she worked locally as an emergency medical technician.
“Jacksboro is very much my home,” Dr. Pierce explained. “I’ve been part of this community for so long. It’s where I’ve established much of my roots and even met Joe, my husband.
She explained that joining FCH’s medical team is an exciting stage in her career because of the community’s strong support of local healthcare services and the development of the replacement hospital set to open in mid-2015.
“Rural healthcare continues to face challenges, and it’s impressive to be in a community like Jacksboro that understands and values the importance of community-based medical services, Dr. Pierce added.
Dr. Pierce begins seeing patients at Faith Community Hospital on Aug. 4. Appointments are being scheduled now. For more information or to make an appointment, please call 940-567-5528.
