Monday, the 13 employees of Diamond Food Market IGA in Jacksboro were informed the store would close for good at noon the following day.

The store was purchased by Lowe's Market, the same company that purchased Marketplace in late April of this year.

Diamonds owner Ed Geer refused comment as he watched the last few customers file out of the store Tuesday at noon.

Jacksboro Newspapers has contacted Lowe’s Market main office in Littlefield with no result at this time.

A more complete report will be featured in the July 18 edition of the Herald.
