“I was really surprised as well as honored,” said FCH Board President Shelley Owen. “It's nice to know the community sees how long and hard we have been working on the hospital. This is their way to show their appreciation.”
Owen has served as FCH president since 1996 and was determined from the start to improve her community's hospital.
“The administration was already great and after all the long hours and upset people we were able to accommodate, we've evolved into a very efficiently-run hospital, especially within the last 4 or 5 years,” she said. “We really have a great team of people working here.”
She said much of the hospital's success can be attributed to its leadership.
