According to the arrest warrant affidavit prepared by Jacksboro Police Officer Jack McGuinn, Jack County dispatch received two calls to 911 concerning a man lying in the road in the 100 block of West Union Street.
Upon arrival, officers and paramedics found Dean lying dead in the road wearing blood-soaked clothes with what appeared to be two stab wounds on the upper left side of his chest.
Officers also discovered a blood trail that led to Dean’s residence in the 500 block of North Knox Street. Officers checked the home for other victims and found no one in the home but there was blood in the living room area.
McGuinn and Wes Wallace, investigator from the 271st District Attorney’s Office spoke with a witness who saw Dean, Emory Alexander and a white male enter Dean’s home and heard an argument between Dean and Alexander just prior to Dean’s body being found.
