A fatal accident killed a Henrietta man just outside of Jacksboro this morning.

Shortly after 11 a.m. Friday morning, Clifford Swinson, 61, was traveling south on Highway 148 three miles north of Jacksboro when the Dodge Dually pickup he was driving left the road and rolled into the southbound ditch.

According to DPS Trooper Shannon Mauney, Swinson who was not wearing a safety belt, was ejected from the truck.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Jack County Judge Mitchell Davenport.

Mauney said at this time, he believes distracted driving, namely texting, was the cause of the wreck.
