Jacksboro football player David Stretcher had a huge game scoring four touchdowns against Nocona Friday.
The Tigers came out on top in the 60-26 victory.
The wide receiver and safety's performance landed him in the running for KAUZ's player of the week.
According to head coach Brian Hodnett's statistics for last week's game, Stretcher caught nine passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns.
Hodnett said Stretcher is a leader on the team, but he leads more by example. He added that much of Stretcher's success is due to his speed.
Stretcher said he pushes himself by watching other players. Stretcher is an A/B honor roll student and plans to sign up for the military this weekend.
"I've wanted to be a Marine since 7th grade. It's always something I wanted to do," he said. "Football is a part of that because we wouldn't be playing if people weren't out there fighting."
But right now, he and Hodnett are focusing on the game against Holliday and the upcoming playoff game which the coach believes will be against Blooming Grove.
