Jacksboro High School is pleased to announce plans for Homecoming 2013 during the week of Oct. 7-11.
The annual homecoming bonfire will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at a site adjacent to the Pee Wee football field on Hwy. 59 near Lake Jacksboro.
Dallas Cowboy B. W. Webb will be the speaker at the bonfire.
This year's bonfire is the result of a cooperative effort involving the City of Jacksboro, Jacksboro Police Department, Jacksboro Fire Department, and Jacksboro ISD.
Arrangements have been made for the bonfire to be constructed of wooden pallets that have been donated by local businesses. No additional materials are needed.
Jacksboro ISD schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. Friday Oct. 11. The homecoming parade is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. The homecoming princess and queen coronation is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. followed by the homecoming pep rally beginning at 2:30 p.m. both in the high school gym.
The junior class barbecue dinner will be from 4 to 7 p.m. in the JHS Cafeteria. Advanced tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Tickets will be available at the event as will plates to go. Tables may be reserved for class reunions by contacting Beverly Solomon at (940) 567-7306.
Pre-game ceremonies begin at 7 p.m. at Tiger Stadium and will include the announcement of the 2013 Homecoming Queen and her court along with the Coming Home King and Queen for 2013.
The homecoming football game between the Tigers and City View Mustangs will kick off at 7:30 p.m.
