The Jacksboro Tiger and Tigerette Cross Country runners got up early Saturday morning to travel to Muenster to participate in their first meet of the year. It was a successful day for both the boys and the girls as the Tigerettes placed second out of twelve teams and the Tigers placed fourth out of ten teams. The Tigerette runners were led by freshman Samantha Shipp who placed eighth individually. She was followed closely by fellow freshmen, Jessica Lamberson who placed ninth and Kaylee Maples placing tenth. Sophomore Yuridia Delgado placed 23rd for the Tigerettes, freshman Alexis Easley placed 38th, juniors Cayley Strickland placed 41st and Megan Harris placed 76th. The Tigers were led by sophomore Jacob Bridges, who built on a strong freshman season with a ninth place finish at the meet. Freshman Dallas Salinas placed 21st, junior Brandon Nelson placed 27th, senior Zach Montgomery placed 32nd, sophomore Jack Lamberson placed 55th and senior E.J. Lozada placed 67th for the Tigers. Hoyt Nebgen (7th grade) competed in the Jr. High Division and placed 73rd out of 96 runners and Jace Lamberson (6th grade) finished first in a special race for students in grades 1-6. The Jacksboro runners will participate in their home meet next Saturday at the annual Tiger Cross Country Meet at Fort Richardson. Races will begin at 8:15 a.m., and will continue until 11.
