Several Jack County residents responded to a request for extras in a TV film called "About Mom and Dad" in Runaway Bay July 10. The independent filmmaker, Rachel Shepherd, 32, is from Runaway Bay and she shot scenes in and around the area since June 26. There were scenes shot at Faith Community Hospital in Jacksboro, private homes in Bridgeport and Runaway Bay, The Club at Runaway Bay and the Exceptional Bride in Decatur.
Donna Fenter, Jacksboro High School drama teacher, called her students, parents and people she knew to show up Wednesday at the Club to be guests at the wedding rehearsal and wedding. Some of those who responded were:
Some attendees said it was exciting to watch how they set up the scenes, filmed and produced the scenes.
According to news reporter Erika Pedroza, who wrote an article in the Wise County Messenger July 13, Shepherd and a crew of 20 completed about 25 percent of the film in 13 days, working through 110 pages of script. Shepherd hopes to screen a rough cut to the Runaway Bay community by the first of the year.
The movie is about Teri and Eddie, a married couple who have been married about 25 years and have a crisis.
Jack County residents look forward to seeing their faces on the big screen someday and will be riding the high of the Hollywood arena for a few months to come.
