Caring for loved ones can be one of the greatest privileges of our lives, but sometimes we need a little help. BeyondFaith Homecare at 120 South Main Street in Jacksboro can offer that assistance. BeyondFaith is locally owned and operated, with two of the owners, Becky Richardson and Mitzi Thomas living in Bryson. Richardson, Thomas, and their other partner, Kelly Seales, are all registered nurses and they have offices in Jacksboro, Graham, Wichita Falls, Abilene, Aledo, Garland, Plano, and Dallas. The Jacksboro branch offers private care services whereas the other offices provide home health care as well. So what's the difference between private care assistance and home health care? Private care is a personalized plan of care that helps people with their daily activities but it does not include skilled nursing care or therapy. Private care services might include: meal preparation, light housekeeping, help with bathing, or running errands, as well as helping with other daily needs. It is funded by the individual or family. Home health care, on the other hand, provides skilled nursing care such as rehabilitation, wound care, diabetic management, and physical therapy. Insurance plans often help pay for these services. It's important to note again that the BeyondFaith office in Jacksboro offers private care assistance. Tina Hawkins, the client care coordinator, meets with clients, usually in their own homes, to evaluate their needs. She then matches them to a caregiver who will come from one to 24 hours to provide that assistance. Tina is also the person who handles the placement, hiring, and supervision of the caregivers. One of the goals of private care services is to allow individuals to be able to stay in their own homes. Many families want to help their loved ones, but distance and time constraints often mean they can't. Services like BeyondFaith can offer the help that makes life easier for both individuals and their loved ones who worry about them. Richardson and Thomas emphasized that all employees are carefully screened. A criminal background check is completed, and all employees are drug tested and random drug screenings are performed on all direct care staff. Additionally, they carry liability insurance and perform on-going supervision. Becky is married to Tracy Richardson and they have two children, Bayley, 15, and Brinkley, 11, who attend Jacksboro schools. Mitzi Thomas and her husband, Tony Thomas, also have two children, Maci who will be a freshman at Jacksboro High School and Dylan who will be in fifth grade here. Tina Hawkins and her husband, Brent Hawkins, who live in Loving, have three children, Levi, 16, Kaleigh 14, and Emma, 5. Vicki Dennis, also of Bryson, is the secretary/receptionist at BeyondFaith and she has three sons, Kevin, Jackie, and Justin Dennis.
