The Jacksboro Tigers Select 8U Coach Pitch AA baseball team is coached by Kasey Swan and Rustin Kinman, both of Jacksboro, Chris Keeny of Perrin and Jason Sanders of Bowie. They have played a total of 34 games since April 4, 2012. The first tournament the Tigers played in was Showdown in Fallstown, at Wichita Falls. They played a total of four games and took 5th place in the tournament. Next was Bowie Grand Slam in Bowie, where the Tigers played three games and took 3rd place in the tournament. The third tournament was Strikes Against Cancer at McKinney. The boys played a total of five games and won their first tournament as the Silver Tournament Champions. Then, there was Mother's Day in the Falls at Wichita Falls, where the boys played four games and were the Tournament Champions. With two Championships under their belts, the boys were on fire and practicing more than ever. They went on to play the Mid-May Mayhem at Triple Creek in McKinney. They played five games and claimed their third Tournament Championship. The next tournament that the Tigers played was 4gg Remember the Fallen at Mansfield. They played four games and took 4th place in the tournament. Graham Thunderfest was the last tournament the Tigers have played. The boys played five games and were the Tournament Champions. This group of boys from Jacksboro, Bowie, Perrin and Paradise eat, sleep and breathe baseball. The team would like to thank all of the community members, family and friends who have come to watch the Tigers play. They could not be the team they are without support from family, friends, parents and wonderful coaches who all sacrifice their time for this group of boys who truly love the game of baseball. The Tigers will be playing in the State 8U AA Tournament this coming weekend in Mansfield. They will be playing in the USSSA 8U World Series in July. They are asking the community for their support. They will be having a garage sale/bake sale Tuesday, June 18, on Belknap Street. They are also selling T-shirts for the World Series. They will hold another bake sale at the end of the month. Please watch the Classifieds for they will specify when and where each fundraiser will be held. All money raised is going to help pay for hotels and other expenses for the Tigers' World Series Trip.
