Faith Community Hospital celebrates one exciting bit of news after another. Recently, FCH Administrator Frank Beaman shared the rendering of the new hospital, which will be located next to the Jacksboro High School baseball and softball fields, north of Highway 281/North Main Street, Dollar General, and Jacksboro National Bank, and west of Highway 148. A dedicated street will be added to the entrance between Dollar General and JHS.
The rendering shows the new hospital building, the outpatient clinic, a new wellness center, emergency rooms, parking and expansion areas. Funding is being finalized this summer and groundbreaking on the new facility is hoped for the month of October.
The Jack County Herald, May 31 issue announced new doctors already practicing and procedures being scheduled in the old hospital, using the new mobile surgical unit acquired from Joplin, Mo. a few weeks ago.
Beaman welcomes anyone interested in touring the new surgical unit to come by the hospital. It is very clean, modern and closely resembles the interior of surgical rooms of large urban hospitals. The first procedure performed was a c-section May 28 and a healthy baby girl
was the result. Other babies and moms have since enjoyed the scenery there.
As stated in the previous article, Beaman hopes to add scope procedures, podiatry and elective general surgery soon.
Beaman plans to have a community celebration when they break ground and start construction.
