First responders were called in the late night hours Tuesday to a wreck on Green Elm Road off Highway 380 East. Tragically, the driver of a 2008 Silverado truck passed away from injuries he sustained when his truck crashed after taking a curve at an unsafe speed. According to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Terry Lockridge, the driver was not wearing a seat belt. Minutes from his home, Austin Anderson, age 32, was traveling north on Green Elm Road at around 11:30 p.m., returning from a family outing at the lake, when the accident occurred. East Jack County Volunteer Fire Department, DPS, and Jack County Sheriff Department responded, but were unable to save Anderson's life. Trooper Lockridge stated, "These accidents hit hard, especially when the seat belt isn't being worn. I just can not emphasize it enough...please wear your seat belts." Anderson is a resident of Wizard Well. He worked in the oilfield and is survived by his wife, Bobbi Higgins. A full obituary is presented on Page 2.
